Indian Toilets!

I found this link:
http://www.pbase.com/jtodhunter/indian_toilet
And it's pretty much the same situation in Thailand -- go through the pictures/tutorial on how to use squat toilets, what to do with the hose or if the hose isn't working, how to use the mug.

when i lived in morocco, one home i lived in did not use much toilet paper (and in some cases, there were no bidets)....they had the "poop bucket"--which is a faucet next to the toilet and a bucket underneath...

there was a small (too small) sliver of soap...

considering I ate with my hands most of the time (and you do use a specific hand for that, of course)....I think bidets are a better investment, again.

no way could fat asses ever use these things...use of this toilet is predicated on the idea that people are a) able to squat b) maintain balance--two big assumptions

The same would be true for older people with weak knees from a lifetime of bending and rising. Not only that but the male anatomy of tstickles and tube would be dragging on the base. What is it with these exotic foreign cultures anyway?
